Syria: Two Civilian Deaths and Five Injuries in Traffic Accidents

On Sunday, the Aleppo Governorate witnessed a traffic accident that resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to five others, including a child and a woman. The accident occurred due to a collision between a motorcycle and a car on the road linking Tal Battal and Akhtarin in northern Aleppo, according to the Syrian Civil Defense, known as the "White Helmets."

In another incident, six civilians sustained injuries and bruises as a result of a collision between two cars on the Bab al-Hawa - Kafr Lusin road in northern Idlib.

In the capital, Damascus, Civil Defense teams responded to a collision near al-Mawasa Hospital, where the accidents caused material damage. The teams worked to clear the road and remove the remnants of the incident.

The "White Helmets" urged drivers to maintain a sufficient distance between vehicles and reduce speed to ensure better control while driving, and to keep both hands on the steering wheel. They also emphasized the importance of avoiding potholes and waterlogged roads, as well as refraining from using mobile phones or radios while driving.

Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in traffic accidents in Syria, as civilians have been able to move between governorates without restrictions. Traffic congestion on main roads, combined with significant damage to infrastructure due to shelling and non-compliance with traffic rules, has contributed to these incidents.
