The U.S. Special Envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, held an important meeting with President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which discussions focused on recent developments concerning Syria and Turkey.

Barrack stated that he spent Wednesday afternoon at the White House alongside Trump and Rubio, where intensive discussions were held on regional issues related to Syria and Turkey. These efforts are part of the U.S. administration's diplomatic initiatives to bolster regional engagement.

In a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), he emphasized that "the President’s vision and the Secretary’s implementation are not just hopes but achievable and realistic goals."

In another development, Barrack visited Damascus officially on May 29th, where he met with the President of the interim government, Ahmad al-Sharaa, and Foreign Minister Asaad Shibabi. This was his first official visit since his appointment as special envoy to Syria.

During the visit, Barrack expressed optimism that the Trump administration would soon work on removing Syria from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, reaffirming that the main goal of U.S. policy is to support the stability of the current Syrian government and enable it to play a role in the upcoming phase.

Last Wednesday, Barrack also visited Israel in a move aimed at discussing recent developments regarding the Syrian file and regional issues, according to Hebrew media outlets.

During this visit, he conducted a field tour in the occupied Golan Heights, accompanied by Israeli officials. He reviewed security conditions in the area and visited several strategic sites alongside Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Interior Minister Ron Dermer, and several senior military commanders.
