Trump Reveals Details of His 75-Minute Call with Putin

Former U.S. President Donald Trump disclosed details of a phone call he had with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which lasted one hour and fifteen minutes. The discussion focused on the escalation of the military conflict in Ukraine and Iran’s nuclear program.

In a post on the platform "Truth Social," Trump described the conversation with Putin as "good," but "not the kind that would lead to immediate peace." He also pointed out that Putin strongly expressed his resolve to respond to the recent Ukrainian attacks targeting Russian military aircraft.

Trump noted that he discussed Iran with Putin, emphasizing that time is "running out" for Tehran to make a final decision regarding its nuclear armament. He clarified that he told Putin explicitly that "Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon," and confirmed that Putin agreed on this point.

Additionally, Trump mentioned that Putin expressed willingness to participate in negotiations with Iran and might play a role in accelerating the resolution of that issue. Trump also expressed concern over Iran’s perceived delay in making a decisive move regarding its nuclear program, amid increasing international pressure.

He concluded by saying that "a final answer from Iran will be needed very soon," indicating rising diplomatic pressure on Tehran.

Meanwhile, Yuri Ushakov, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, said that Putin and Trump mainly discussed the situation in Ukraine, especially the recent attacks on Russian civilians and the second round of negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.

Ushakov added that the two leaders also touched on the Iranian file, with Trump believing that cooperation with Moscow is necessary to address Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He described the call as "positive" and "constructive," noting that both sides agreed to "stay in constant contact."

Although Trump has always expressed admiration for Putin, recent weeks have seen him increasingly disappointed with Moscow’s stance during the failed peace talks with Ukraine, which have reached a dead-end.
