The cultural and artistic scene in Syria is facing a wave of controversy and dissatisfaction following reports of the illegal eviction of artist "Buthaina Al-Ali's" home by an individual known as "Abu Khalil Al-Damashqi," who claims to be the new ruler by divine right.

According to reports, Abu Khalil did not present any legal documents proving his entitlement to the house, as he demands its return under the guise of claiming that the house has become his responsibility.

Abu Khalil, who was recently appointed as the head of the "Anbar" office responsible for protecting Syrian historical and architectural heritage, continues his controversial actions by implementing measures that many circles consider serious violations. He claims to be the law, raising questions about the legitimacy of his actions.

Many entities have criticized these practices, which are recurring under the banner of a "new era," calling for the protection of citizens' rights and the enforcement of the legal system. This call comes at a time when concerns are growing about the exploitation of the current situation for personal or political purposes.

The decision to evict the home has also raised questions about Abu Khalil's motives, and whether the homeowner's affiliations, as she belongs to the Alawite sect, have opened the door for the Sheikh to seize the property with or without justification.

On another note, based on available information, the individual known as Abu Khalil Al-Damashqi has disappeared from the site, raising the possibility that he may have assumed another identity, according to eyewitnesses in the area.

Residents have praised the efforts of the security apparatus in the authority, which responded quickly to the complaint and is currently heading to the site to investigate the matter.
