Fears of All-Out War: Hezbollah Entangles Lebanon in a Conflict Beyond Its Capacity
حزب الله ولبنان - ليفانت نيوز

In a dangerous development threatening to embroil Lebanon in an all-out war, Israeli forces launched a series of intensive raids on multiple areas in the country, in response to Hezbollah's repeated provocations. According to informed sources, Israel carried out approximately 300 raids in a single day, targeting points in southern and eastern Lebanon, reaching as far as the capital Beirut.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported 274 casualties and over a thousand injuries, including 21 children, in an initial toll of the attacks. Health Minister Firas Abiad announced the displacement of thousands of families from the affected areas, confirming the participation of 27 hospitals in receiving the wounded.

In a notable incident, the Israeli army announced executing a targeted operation in Beirut, where media reports indicated the targeting of Ali Karaki, the commander of Hezbollah's Southern Front, who is considered the third figure in the organization's military hierarchy.

The Israeli strikes hit areas not previously targeted, including the heights of the eastern chain in Baalbek and the city of Hermel, as well as towns in Tyre and Jezzine districts and areas of Al-Wadyan and Al-Zahrani, indicating an unprecedented expansion of military operations.

This dangerous escalation comes as a direct result of Hezbollah's reckless policies and insistence on continuing to provoke Israel, ignoring Lebanese national interests. Reports from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy have indicated that Hezbollah's actions pose a direct threat to Lebanon's security and stability.

It's worth noting that this escalation comes in the wake of an Israeli operation targeting the southern suburb of Beirut last week, which resulted in the death of 59 people, including 16 Hezbollah members. The party threatened a harsh response to this attack, ignoring the dire consequences for the Lebanese people.

In light of these dangerous developments, international, UN, and Arab warnings have escalated about the risks of an all-out war breaking out in the region. International human rights organizations, such as Human Rights Watch, have called for the need to hold all parties involved in human rights violations accountable, including Hezbollah, which bears significant responsibility for exposing Lebanese civilians to danger.

This crisis situation highlights the urgent need to implement international resolutions, especially Resolution 1559, which calls for the disarmament of all militias in Lebanon, including Hezbollah, to ensure the sovereignty of the Lebanese state and protect its national interests from external interventions and reckless military adventures.
