Israeli Airstrikes Target Hezbollah Facilities Amid Ceasefire Violation Claims

Continuous Israeli military movements in southern Lebanon reveal attempts to impose new field realities despite ceasefire agreement
The Israeli army initiated a series of attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon on Saturday, claiming detection of "activities that posed a threat," on the fourth day of the ceasefire implementation.
The army detailed in its statement four separate operations involving "transfer of combat equipment," operations at a "site containing Hezbollah rocket platforms," and work "inside a missile production infrastructure," noting that the air force executed some of these attacks.
Earlier, the army revealed targeting "military infrastructure sites" near the Syrian-Lebanese border "used by Hezbollah for weapons smuggling," claiming these operations "pose a threat to Israel in violation of the ceasefire agreement."
Israeli tanks breached areas in the southern Lebanese town of Aitaroun during the ceasefire period, penetrating areas they couldn't reach during the confrontation period.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that three civilians were injured, including a seven-year-old child, in an Israeli airstrike targeting a car in Majdal Zoun in the country's south.
The Israeli army imposed restrictions on Lebanese civilian movements in about 62 southern villages, with military spokesman Avichay Adraee warning that "anyone moving south of a line connecting 10 Lebanese border towns will put themselves at risk."
Israel and Hezbollah exchange accusations of violating the ceasefire agreement, mediated by Washington and Paris, which is supposed to last 60 days aimed at reaching a permanent halt to confrontations.
The five-party oversight committee consisting of the United States, France, Lebanon, Israel, and the United Nations will meet at UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura tomorrow, Sunday, to discuss mutual violations.
The undeclared terms of the agreement require Hezbollah to withdraw north of the Litani River and enhance Lebanese army deployment south of the river, with the Lebanese army taking over positions currently controlled by the Israeli army and Hezbollah.
The confrontations since October 2023 have resulted in 3,961 deaths according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, while Israel announced the death of 82 military personnel and 47 civilians, alongside the displacement of hundreds of thousands from both sides.
