President-elect Donald Trump announced General Keith Kellogg's nomination as his assistant and special envoy to Ukraine and Russia.

Trump tweeted: "Very pleased to nominate General Keith Kellogg as Assistant to the President and Special Envoy to Ukraine and Russia. Keith has led a distinguished military and business career, including highly sensitive national security positions in my first administration."

He added: "He's been with me from the beginning! Together, we'll secure peace through strength and make America and the world safe again!"

Trump's choice relied on Kellogg's distinguished military and business expertise, noting his loyalty since first presidency.
