UAE Emphasizes the Importance of Building a Unified and Terror-Free Syria
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Foreign Minister, emphasized the importance of uniting all components of the Syrian people to build a stable and secure Syria, free from terrorism and exclusion.
This came during his participation in the "Riyadh Ministerial Meetings on Syria," which commenced on Sunday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Emirati minister noted that this meeting embodies the significance of unifying regional, international, and UN efforts to support the brotherly Syrian people, aiming to meet their legitimate aspirations for security, stability, and sustainable development.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed also reaffirmed the UAE's steadfast position in supporting Syria's independence and its sovereignty over all its territories, stressing the necessity of unity and cohesion among all segments of the Syrian people to achieve a secure and stable future.
He praised the efforts of Geir Pedersen, the UN Secretary-General's Envoy to Syria, highlighting the importance of providing all forms of support and assistance to expedite a comprehensive political process that enhances the security of the Syrian people and offers them development and a dignified life.
