Ukrainian President and U.S. secretary of state hold telephone talks

The Xinhua reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a telephone conversation to inform each other on their positions on Ukraine's crisis, the Ukrainian president's press service reported on Tuesday.


The conversation took place on the eve of a planned video conference between U.S. President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was slated for later Tuesday. They are expected to discuss issues concerning Ukraine and several other issues.

During the talks, Zelensky informed Blinken about the situation on the Ukrainian borders. They also discussed the security cooperation between Kiev and Washington.

Both parties also agreed that Biden will hold a phone conversation with Zelensky after his online meeting with Putin.
