3 Israeli Soldiers Killed and 67 Injured in Hezbollah Drone Attack
-
Israel's expansion of ground operations in southern Lebanon reflects its determination to achieve its military objectives, but threatens to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis and increase regional ten

A drone attack carried out by Hezbollah resulted in the death of three Israeli soldiers and injured 67 others, including 8 in critical condition. The attack targeted a gathering of soldiers near the village of Binyamin in northern Israel, where the Israeli air defense system failed to detect the drone before the attack occurred.
In a swift response, the Israeli army expanded its ground operations in southern Lebanon, escalating its air and artillery strikes on the region. The Israeli army announced the discovery of Hezbollah weapon depots during these operations, indicating its determination to achieve its military objectives in the area.
In contrast, Hezbollah reported clashes with Israeli forces attempting to infiltrate the village of Ramiya in southern Lebanon. The group continued launching rockets towards northern Israel, resulting in injuries and damage at several locations.
Amid this escalation, the civilian death toll in Lebanon has risen tragically. The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced the death of at least 15 people in Israeli raids targeting areas outside Hezbollah's traditional strongholds, including the villages of Al-Maaysara north of Beirut, Deir Bella near Batroun, and Burja in the Chouf region.
It's worth noting that the escalating conflict has led to the death of more than 2,255 people in Lebanon since the confrontations broke out in October 2023, according to figures from the Lebanese Ministry of Health. It has also led to the displacement of more than one million people, highlighting the scale of the worsening humanitarian disaster.
In light of these dangerous developments, international calls for de-escalation and protection of civilians are increasing. Observers emphasize the need for urgent action to stop the fire and open channels for dialogue, to avoid the region sliding into a comprehensive war that could have catastrophic consequences for the entire region.
