A violent Israeli raid on Ashrafieh Sahnaya, near Damascus

Israeli warplanes carried out seven airstrikes targeting the outskirts of the Ashrafiat Sahnaaya area in rural Damascus on Wednesday, April 30. These attacks come at a time when public security units continue extensive combing operations against lawless groups that infiltrated the region in the past two days.
Local sources clarified that two powerful explosions shook the area, coinciding with the intensive flight of Israeli warplanes and drones over Sahnaaya and Damascus. Three of the airstrikes resulted in injuries to seven people, including four members of the public security forces.
They noted that the airstrikes occurred just minutes after a United Nations delegation concluded a field visit to the Ashrafiat Sahnaaya area, where the convoy departed accompanied by units from the public security forces following a tour to inspect the security and humanitarian conditions in the region.
These developments come as the public security forces, supported by the Ministry of Defense, continue to execute an extensive security campaign that began Tuesday evening, aiming to fully regain control over Ashrafiat Sahnaaya and pursue the lawless groups that attacked civilians and public security points, resulting in the deaths of a number of personnel and citizens.
The Ministry of Interior announced a comprehensive security plan that includes a wide deployment around the town of Sahnaaya, in parallel with direct confrontation of any infiltration attempts or hostile movements within the area.
The ministry emphasized that it would not tolerate any threats and would use force to repel anyone attempting to jeopardize the security of the Syrian Arab Republic or coordinate with hostile entities.
It is worth noting that this Israeli bombing is the second of its kind in less than 24 hours on the outskirts of Sahnaaya.
