Israel Returns Livestock to Syrian Farmers.. Amid Damascus's Neglect of the Border
-
This incident highlights the stark contrast between Israel's responsible border policies and the Syrian regime's neglect of the security and safety of residents in areas adjacent to the Golan

Israeli authorities have returned more than 300 goats to their Syrian owners in Quneitra Governorate. This action came after a limited security operation carried out by the Israel Defense Forces in the Ruqqad Valley, one of the tributaries of the Yarmouk River.
Local sources explained that the Israeli army returned the livestock by leaving them in the valley of Jamla village in the border area of the Yarmouk Basin. The initiative was welcomed by Syrian farmers who have long suffered from the neglect of the regime in Damascus.
Regional affairs experts view this behavior as highlighting the Syrian regime's inability to provide security and stability for its citizens in border areas.
In a related context, observers expressed surprise at the Syrian regime's continued failure to protect the interests of its citizens in these sensitive areas, affirming that the absence of effective regime authority in these areas leaves the field open for Israel to play a positive role.
Local residents confirmed that this incident once again revealed the extent of neglect suffered by border areas under the Assad regime, indicating that basic services and security protection are almost non-existent as the regime is preoccupied with suppressing its opponents in other parts of the country.
