Israeli Airstrike Targets Strategic Weapons Shipment for Hezbollah in Lebanon

Media sources have reported that Israel executed an airstrike on the Bekaa region of Lebanon, targeting a strategic weapons shipment for Hezbollah. Reports clarified that this shipment had entered from Syria after the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Despite the ceasefire agreement in place between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, Israeli aircraft conducted a strike early Wednesday morning, specifically targeting the eastern Baalbek area, according to the official National News Agency.
The agency indicated that the strike targeted a house in the Taraya plain near the Litani River, with no casualties reported from the attack. A security source, who requested anonymity, stated that the strike occurred at 2:40 UTC, specifically targeting warehouses believed to belong to Hezbollah.
In a related context, Israel informed the international ceasefire monitoring committee that it would extend its forces' presence in southern Lebanon if the Lebanese army could not complete the deployment of its troops in the southern region after the deadline expired.
Coinciding with this escalation, Israeli army vehicles infiltrated the Wadi al-Hajir area in southern Lebanon, conducting armed sweep operations. As a result of this incursion, residents of the town of Al-Qantara were displaced to the neighboring town of Al-Ghandouriya, according to the official news agency.
On another note, the municipality of Majdel Selm issued a warning to citizens not to use the Salouqi-Wadi al-Hajir road and the side roads from the town of Qabrihah due to "emerging security conditions."
It is worth noting that the ceasefire agreement between the Israeli army and Hezbollah came into effect on November 27, but both sides have exchanged accusations of violating this agreement. On the same day, the United Nations Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) called for the accelerated withdrawal of Israeli forces, as the truce stipulated the reinforcement of the Lebanese army and UNIFIL’s deployment in southern Lebanon, along with the withdrawal of the Israeli army within a period of 60 days.
