Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stated during his field assessment of the Syrian front that "forces are controlling key defensive points in the best possible way." These visits are part of Israel’s ongoing strategy to bolster security along its northern border amid rapid regional developments.

Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee reported that Chief of Staff Zamir, accompanied by "Northern Command chief Uri Gordin, 210th Division commander Brig. Gen. Yair Palai, and other senior officers," conducted an inspection tour on Sunday to evaluate the situation in Syria.

The high-level delegation underscores the border region’s critical role in Israel’s near- and long-term security strategy.

Adraee added: "The Chief of Staff spoke with field commanders and soldiers, approving plans to continue defensive and offensive operations." These movements align with efforts to secure border areas and enhance defensive capabilities against emerging threats.

Zamir emphasized: "This area is vital. We entered here because Syria collapsed, so we now control key points and maintain a presence on the front to defend ourselves in the best possible way." His remarks reflect a strategic approach focused on securing high-ground positions for optimal surveillance in the restive zone.

He further noted: "From this location, we can monitor anyone on this mountain range—it’s a strategic vantage point. We don’t know how things will evolve here, but our presence is of utmost security importance. The army will continue operating in this sector to protect civilians from any threat."
