Potential Agreement Between Hamas and Israel

As positive signals increase regarding the possibility of reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza between Hamas and Israel, which may facilitate a prisoner exchange, meetings that were previously held in Cairo will resume today, Tuesday, aimed at coordinating the administration of the Gaza Strip.
Sources from Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath reported that sessions between the delegations of Fatah and Hamas will be held today to agree on the mechanisms for administering Gaza post-conflict. It was noted that this is the fourth time the two Palestinian delegations have met in the Egyptian capital after failing to reach a consensus on a suitable framework for managing the devastated territory, following more than a year since the outbreak of the Israeli war on October 7, 2023.
In this context, sources revealed that the Fatah delegation conditioned having the largest share in selecting the fifteen members who will manage Gaza. The sources also confirmed the existence of Arab pressures aimed at forming a professional committee independent of Fatah and Hamas, allowing for international acceptance in dealing with it, facilitating aid entry, and ensuring reconstruction.
Over the past months, Cairo has witnessed several meetings to form a committee to manage affairs in the Gaza Strip following the end of the war. This committee is expected to oversee the administration of Gaza under the supervision of the Palestinian government in Ramallah.
It is worth mentioning that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously rejected the idea of the Palestinian Authority managing Gaza after the war, indicating that this would mean "protecting terrorists," referring to Hamas, and he expressed a firm refusal for any presence or role of Hamas in administering the territory.
