Saudi Arabia: The Responsibility of Maintaining the Gaza Ceasefire Lies with Us All

As the Gaza ceasefire enters its fourth day, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of adhering to the ceasefire in the Palestinian territory, which is suffering from destruction. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan expressed on Wednesday that the responsibility for maintaining the truce rests on all parties in the region.
Prince Faisal expressed hope that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza would hold, according to reports from Reuters. These statements come at a time when the agreement, which took effect last Sunday under American, Egyptian, and Qatari sponsorship, remains fragile and faces concerns about its potential collapse.
On another front, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed a lack of confidence in the ceasefire's ability to hold just two days ago, despite informed sources indicating that his administration has begun preparations for the second phase of the agreement, as reported by Politico.
It is noteworthy that this agreement was reached after 15 months of devastating conflict and arduous negotiations. The agreement consists of three phases, with the first phase involving the release of 33 Israelis held in Gaza since October 2023 in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinians.
In this regard, Hamas has already handed over three Israelis last Sunday, while Israel released 90 Palestinian prisoners from its jails.
Attention is currently focused on delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which has suffered under a suffocating blockade for over a year, with Israeli forces preventing the entry of food and medical aid trucks, except for minimal amounts.
