Unknown Bombardment Thwarts Turkish Efforts to Open Abu Al-Zandin Crossing with the Regime
-
Turkish continuous attempts to open the crossing conflict with the interests of local and regional powers seeking to maintain barriers between different areas of influence

The "Military Police" began closing the Abu Al-Zandin crossing near Al-Bab city in rural Aleppo, which separates areas controlled by the Syrian regime and Turkish-backed factions, following a mysterious attack that caused injuries.
The crossing was targeted on Monday by an unknown rocket attack, resulting in two injuries, including a humanitarian organization worker. Local sources told North Press that operations at Abu Al-Zandin crossing have been suspended indefinitely, without an official statement being issued.
The sources revealed that all efforts by the opposition's "Interim Government" to operate the crossing since June 26 have failed. Unknown bombardment targeted the crossing in late July, just one day after its opening, leading to its closure throughout the previous period until this morning.
Other sources told North Press that the "Interim Government" spoke about opening the crossing to receive Syrians fleeing the war in Lebanon, amid skepticism about the validity of this justification, suggesting the move was in response to continuous Turkish desires.
It's worth noting that the Abu Al-Zandin crossing represents a strategic crossing point between areas controlled by the Syrian regime and areas under Turkish-backed factions in northern rural Aleppo.
The crossing has witnessed numerous attempts to reopen it during past years, but all have failed due to ongoing security tensions and disputes between conflicting parties.
