Escalation of Attacks on Idlib and Aleppo: Heavy Human Losses and Ongoing Suffering
The Syrian regime and Russia continue to escalate their attacks on the Idlib and Aleppo regions in northwestern Syria, resulting in the deaths of 54 civilians, including 20 children and 8 women, within a span of just five days.
In a regrettable development, regime warplanes launched a new airstrike this morning, Monday, resulting in the death of 7 civilians in the Arab Talhidya camp near Haranbush in northern Idlib, among them 5 children and 2 women, in addition to injuring 12 others, some of them critically, according to reports from the Syrian Civil Defense teams.
The regime's warplanes also conducted strikes on residential neighborhoods in the city of Idlib, leading to the deaths of 3 civilians and injuring others, according to initial figures reported by the civil defense teams.
These military operations come at a time when the Syrian regime and its Russian ally continue to target civilians and infrastructure, amid the absence of any effective international action to stop these repeated violations.
