Kuwait Cracks Down on Syrian Residency Trafficking and Document Forgery Network
Kuwait reaffirms its strict stance against any form of illegal residency trafficking and confirms taking the necessary legal measures.
On Saturday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a criminal group of Syrian nationality involved in residency trafficking. The group established fake companies through document forgery and manipulation, bringing hundreds of workers into the country in exchange for money.
In a statement on its official account on the platform "X" (formerly known as Twitter), the ministry stated that the Residency Affairs Sector, represented by the General Administration of Residency Affairs Investigations - Search and Investigation Department, managed to apprehend the gang that created non-existent companies through document forgery and manipulation.
The ministry explained that the gang registered and brought hundreds of workers into the country for financial amounts ranging from 500 dinars ($1,635) for internal transfers to 2,000 dinars ($6,541) for bringing in workers from abroad, aiming for illegal profit.
The ministry confirmed that the Residency Affairs Investigation officers confronted this crime and managed to arrest all involved parties, including citizen sponsors who facilitated them. All necessary legal actions were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent authorities.
The ministry emphasized that it will confront any person attempting to traffic residencies or violate the law with full force and determination. The ministry also published photos of the gang members along with the statement on the platform "X".
