New Restrictions on Lebanese Entry into Syria
Syrian authorities have imposed a set of new restrictions on the entry of Lebanese citizens into their territory, which include strict conditions such as the necessity of holding a valid residence permit, a hotel reservation with a provision of $2,000, or scheduling a medical appointment with a Syrian sponsor. Violators of these conditions will face a financial penalty and a ban on entry for one year, according to the newspaper "An-Nahar."
At the same time, the Lebanese General Security has stopped the crossing of Lebanese citizens into Syria through several border points, such as Al-Masnaa, Al-Arida, and Al-Abboudiyeh, based on recommendations from the Syrian side.
This measure comes in response to previous Lebanese decisions that prevent the entry of Syrians who do not meet the specified conditions for entering Lebanon, such as having a valid Lebanese residence permit.
