Pakistani Cabinet Orders Military to Respond to Indian Attacks
الهند - باكستان

The Pakistani cabinet issued a statement today, Wednesday, declaring that the missile attacks carried out by India on Pakistani territory constitute an act of war. It approved the deployment of the army to take necessary measures to retaliate against these hostile actions. This statement came after an emergency meeting of the National Security Committee in Islamabad, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where the Indian attacks were explicitly described as aggressive. The committee reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In the statement from the Prime Minister’s office, targeting Pakistani sites by India was described as a blatant violation of the country’s sovereignty and considered acts of war under international law. It stressed that the Pakistani armed forces have been instructed to take all appropriate measures to respond to these assaults. The statement also confirmed that Pakistan reserves the right to respond under Article 51 of the UN Charter and called on the international community to hold India fully responsible for the escalation.

Amid these escalations, India continued shelling sites inside Pakistan, targeting what it claimed was terrorist infrastructure, two weeks after the killing of 26 people in an attack targeting a tourist area in Indian-administered Kashmir. India accused Islamabad of responsibility for the attack. Pakistan reported that six sites were bombed, resulting in eight deaths.

These developments represent a serious escalation in tensions between the two countries, as the region awaits international reactions to the ongoing military escalation.
