Saudi crown prince concludes visit to France
The crown prince said that bilateral discussions have stressed the mutual desire to enhance strategic partnership between the two countries. (SPA)

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Friday (July 29) thanked French President Emmanuel Macron for his warm reception during talks, where he met with French President Emmanuel Macron.

“As I leave your friendly country, it gives me great pleasure to express to Your Excellency my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to me and the accompanying delegation.” he said.

“The discussions that we had with your Excellency confirmed our common desire to strengthen the strategic partnership between our two friendly countries in all fields, and to work on continuing the coordination and consultation on issues of common interest, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and your Excellency, which aims to achieve the interests of the two countries and their two friendly peoples, and the strengthening of security and stability in the region.”

The Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to Paris follows Macron’s visit to Jeddah last December, and it is the second and last leg of his European tour that started in Greece.

During his visit to France, Crown Prince also met with Audrey Azoulay, the Director-General of UNESCO. They Azoulay discussed cultural initiatives led by Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom’s mutual cooperation with UNESCO - a specialized agency of the United Nations - and ways to enhance cultural relations.

Mohammed bin Salman from Athens: We have close ties with Greece

Saudi Arabia and France enjoy strong economic ties. The trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and France over the past five years amounted to 163 billion Saudi Riyals ($43.4 billion).

It is worthy to noted that non-oil Saudi exports to France reached 1.7 billion Saudi Riyals ($453 million) in 2021, a 105 percent increase compared to 2020.
