Pakistani Army Shoots Down Indian Spy Drone

The Pakistani army announced on Tuesday that it had shot down an Indian surveillance drone that had violated the Line of Control in the disputed region of Kashmir, according to a report by Bloomberg citing Pakistani state television.

According to the report, the information was based on unnamed Pakistani security sources, who confirmed that the drone had crossed the Line of Control, which represents the boundary between the areas controlled by Pakistan and India in Kashmir—a region that has been the subject of a long-standing conflict between the two countries.

This development comes amid rising tensions between the two nuclear neighbors following an attack on tourists in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir last week, which resulted in casualties. In response to the incident, India increased security measures, including closing more than half of the tourist destinations in the region.

Additionally, calls within India have intensified in recent days for the government to take strict actions against Pakistan, amid fears that the security situation could escalate further in this sensitive region.

Kashmir is considered one of the most volatile conflict zones in South Asia, with India and Pakistan having fought three wars since their independence in 1947, most of which were triggered by disputes over this strategically important mountainous region.

More than 100 high school students from across the Kingdom of Bahrain took part in the hackathon, which featured an intensive programme of training workshops and hands-on sessions. These activities were tailored to enhance participants’ critical thinking, collaborative problem-solving, and team-building capabilities, while also encouraging the development of practical and sustainable solutions to contemporary challenges using modern technological tools.
