Ahmad al-Shara among them... A Lawsuit Against Syrian Leaders Regarding the Alawite Genocide
منظمة العفو الدولية تدعو الحكومة السورية لمحاسبة المسؤولين عن القتل الجماعي في الساحل

The "French Alawite Gathering" announced that the French public prosecutor has accepted a lawsuit against the president of the Syrian transitional phase, Ahmad al-Shara, along with several ministers and leaders of the new army.

The accused face serious charges including genocide and ethnic cleansing, in light of the massacres targeting Alawite citizens on the Syrian coast in the past month.

The list of accused includes prominent figures in the new government, as follows:
- Ahmad al-Shara: President of the Transitional Phase
- Murhaf Abu Qasra: Minister of Defense
- Asaad al-Shabani: Minister of Foreign Affairs
- Anas Khattab: Minister of Interior
- Muhammad al-Jassam (Abu Amsha): Commander of the 25th Division

The charges relate to leading and executing mass killings targeting civilians, complicating the political and security landscape in Syria and putting the officials before international courts.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported in its latest tally that "830 Alawite civilians have been killed in the areas of the Syrian coast and the mountains of Latakia by security forces and affiliated groups."

Consequently, the total toll amounts to at least 1,311 dead, including 231 members of the security forces and 250 loyalist militia fighters.
