Ahmad al-Shara: Trump is a President Capable of Achieving Peace in the Middle East

Ahmad al-Shara, the leader of the new Syrian administration known as "Abu Muhammad al-Julani," congratulated American President Donald Trump on his inauguration, expressing hope for improved relations between Syria and the United States.
In a statement published by the Syrian General Command, al-Shara said, "On behalf of the leadership and the people of the Syrian Arab Republic, I congratulate Donald Trump on his taking the oath of office." He explained that the past decade has witnessed great suffering and hardship for Syria, with conflicts leading to the destruction of the country and destabilization of the region.
Al-Shara expressed confidence that Trump would be the leader capable of establishing peace in the Middle East and restoring stability to the region. He emphasized his hopes for improving relations between the two countries based on dialogue and understanding, and that both administrations would benefit from this opportunity to develop a partnership that reflects their aspirations.
In this context, Trump took the oath of office to become the 47th president of the United States, stating in his inaugural address that his administration would seek to end wars and that "the golden era of the United States has begun, and I will put America first."
It is noteworthy that al-Shara came to power after opposition factions, led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (designated as a terrorist organization in the United States), ousted President Bashar al-Assad last December. The new administration is seeking financial resources for rebuilding the country after a conflict lasting more than 13 years, which resulted in the deaths of nearly half a million people, the displacement of millions, and widespread destruction.
