Al-Sham Front reduces alert in Aleppo countryside in preparation for negotiations

The "Sham Front," part of the Third Corps of the Syrian National Army, has begun to reduce its state of alert in the northern Aleppo countryside to prepare the ground for negotiations with the Ministry of Defense and the "joint force."

A source from the "Sham Front" told Syria TV that the faction's leadership decided to lower the alert level by half as a gesture of goodwill and "to express its genuine desire to end tensions peacefully."

The source noted that no new meetings regarding the tensions in northern Aleppo have been held so far, but communications are ongoing, adding: "We have partially reduced our alert status to create a positive atmosphere for reaching a solution that satisfies everyone."

The northern Aleppo countryside has witnessed tensions in recent days between the "Sham Front" and the "joint force," both affiliated with the Syrian National Army, following the joining of the "Northern Eagles Brigade" to the "Sham Front" after a decision was made to dissolve it.

A few days ago, a meeting was held in the Hwar Kilis area between a delegation from the Sham Front and officials from the Turkish side to discuss the escalation file. According to a special source for Syria TV, the Turkish side requested that the "Sham Front" hand over the commander of the "Northern Eagles Brigade," Hassan Hajj Ali (Hassan Khairy), and the brigade’s headquarters in the "Olive Branch" area to the Ministry of Defense, which the "Sham Front" refused.

In return, the "Sham Front" requested the Turkish side to issue orders to de-escalate the situation from the "joint force," which seeks escalation under the pretext of implementing decisions from the Ministry of Defense, but the Turkish side did not respond to this request either.

Later, the "Sham Front" informed the Turkish side that it would not retreat from its decision to incorporate the "Northern Eagles Brigade," noting that if there were issues concerning the brigade's commander, "Hassan Khairy," these could be addressed without the need to dissolve the entire faction.

It is worth mentioning that Syria TV learned recently that the commander of the "Sham Front," Azzam Gharib, sent a message to leaders of the National Army, confirming that he does not wish to escalate against the "joint force" and the Ministry of Defense, emphasizing that material matters regarding headquarters and others can be negotiated without crossing the "red line."
