Recent media reports have revealed new strategic movements in the region, where a source told the American magazine "Time" on Monday that Iran is preparing to move thousands of fighters to the border areas between Lebanon and Syria.

The source added that over the past two months, several thousand fighters have already left Iraq heading to Syria, in a move interpreted as Tehran's attempt to strengthen its deterrence power.

Reports indicate that Hezbollah, since its intervention in Syria in 2012 to support President Bashar al-Assad's regime, has built a sophisticated network of bases and tunnels in Syrian areas near the Lebanese border.

However, in the wake of recent Israeli strikes targeting Hezbollah leaders, the focus now appears to be on reorganizing the party's ranks in Lebanon and preparing for a long-term confrontation.

In a significant development, sources indicated that many of Hezbollah's field commanders have fled with their families to Syria, reflecting the extent of pressure the organization is under. It is also expected that Syria and Iraq will become main channels for transferring Hezbollah's resources in the coming phase.

Despite these moves that may seem escalatory, some analysts believe that what Iran calls the "axis of resistance" has actually revealed its weaknesses.

Even Hezbollah, considered the most important ally in this axis, has suffered painful blows, meaning that the options available to Iran and its allies for escalation may be limited.
