A negotiating source informed North Press Agency, which operates in northern and eastern Syria, on Saturday about the details of an agreement regarding Tishreen Dam that brought together Ankara, Damascus, and Qamishli under Washington's supervision.

During Saturday, a joint delegation including representatives from the International Coalition, the Syrian interim caretaker government, and special forces elements from the Syrian Democratic Forces inspected the Tishreen Dam facility. Following the visit, a source from the "SDF" told North Press that the delegation conducted an exploratory tour of the site.

The source, who spoke to North Press on condition of anonymity as he lacked official authorization to make statements, explained that the negotiating parties succeeded in reaching understandings addressing the administrative and security aspects related to operating and protecting the dam.

Under the agreement, the dam will be completely neutralized from the scope of military operations, with a gradual reduction in the number of forces stationed on both sides of the facility. Meanwhile, the armed groups supported by the Turkish army will withdraw from the western bank of the dam, to be replaced by forces from the Ministry of Defense in the Syrian interim caretaker government.

According to the source, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) of the Autonomous Administration will assume the responsibility of protecting the dam facility, while the Autonomous Administration employees will continue to be responsible for operating and managing the facility.

The source noted "American efforts" that played a pivotal role in the success of this agreement and reaching understanding points between the concerned parties.

A state of calm currently prevails in the Tishreen Dam area, following violent confrontations that continued for about four months between the "SDF" and armed factions supported by the Turkish army.

It is expected that a truce and a ceasefire agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Turkish army will be announced "soon."
