By 20 billion pounds, Egypt is building a huge city for therapeutic tourism.
Egypt plans to build the largest medical therapeutic tourism city in the Middle East and Africa.
The construction of the largest medical tourism city in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa will soon begin, with an estimated investment of 20 billion pounds, the engineer, Ammar Mandour, the head of Badr City, said.
The head of the city said that 90% of the project investments are Egyptian, and the preliminary review of the project site has been done. He pointed out that he will provide the latest updates in medical sciences and the newest techniques in medical equipment.
He emphasised that the city is scheduled to include 13 medical institutes specialising in various medical sciences with a capacity of 2000 beds, air ambulance, an educational hospital, natural healing gardens and medicinal plants garden. He confirmed that this project is "one of the national projects in Egypt" and will provide many jobs opportunities for youths, adding that 10% of the beds will be for Egyptians who are unable to pay treatment costs.
He added that the project is located on an area of 109 acres. The provision of the medical services will commence after the completion of the first stage of the project, which is after 30 months from the start date. He indicated that the project is due to be completed in full after five years from the start date.
He said that the project board would be helped by important and experienced foreign companies in the management of the city for the first five years, alongside the Egyptians expertise overseas, until finishing the training of Egyptian doctors, staff and workers of the project.
