Dina… Admires Al-Sharaa and Used to Like Basil al-Assad
دينا .. معجبة بالشرع وكانت تحب باسل الأسد

Egyptian dancer and actress Dina has stirred a wide wave of controversy on social media following her provocative remarks related to Syria, where she questioned the credibility of information about the Saydnaya prison and expressed admiration for the current president Ahmad al-Sharaa.

In an interview with the Lebanese channel "Al-Jadeed," Dina explained that the information revealed about Saydnaya prison after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's regime could be either credible or not. She stated that politics is full of gaps, making it difficult to determine the truth. She added that while she might believe some of the scenes depicted about the prison, she can also question their accuracy, pointing to the influence of artificial intelligence in shaping opinions.

When discussing politics, Dina noted that artists are often influenced by their emotions, unlike politicians who rely on reason. She indicated that Bashar al-Assad's regime has both positives and negatives, affirming that Syrians are the ones who know its details best.

Dina also revealed that she has no objections to visiting Syria at the present time, praising President Ahmad al-Sharaa, whom she described as a strong character with sincere words. She expressed her belief that al-Sharaa is suitable for the current phase, but she added that it is too early to judge the success of the Syrian revolution.

On a personal note, Dina spoke about her relationship with the Assad family, mentioning her previous friendship with Basil al-Assad, the late older brother of President Bashar al-Assad, which dates back to the early 1990s.

It is worth noting that Saydnaya prison, located near the city of Damascus, is considered one of the largest detention centers under the rule of President Bashar al-Assad and his late father, Hafez al-Assad.
