Intense Explosions Follow Israeli Airstrike on Hezbollah Ammunition Depot in Southern Homs

Violent explosions erupted following an Israeli airstrike targeting a Hezbollah ammunition depot in the Shanshar area between the Al-Majd suburb and Shamsin in southern Homs, located along the Homs-Damascus road. The strikes were followed by thick smoke rising and successive explosions from the targeted depot, with no information available so far regarding casualties.

It is noteworthy that this area is military in nature, housing the 15th and 11th divisions of the Syrian regime forces, as well as military posts belonging to Hezbollah.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented that since the beginning of 2024, Israel has targeted Syrian territory 147 times, comprising 121 aerial attacks and 26 ground assaults. These strikes have resulted in the injury and destruction of approximately 260 targets, including weapon and ammunition depots, military headquarters, facilities, and vehicles.
