Intensified Israeli Airstrikes Continue in Southern Lebanon as Hezbollah Targets Military Positions

As destruction ravages several towns in southern Lebanon due to relentless Israeli airstrikes and bombardments that have persisted for months, the escalation shows no signs of abating.
Israel conducted airstrikes on Sakhmour in western Bekaa, followed by a second strike on the town of Al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon. Additionally, a correspondent for Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath reported another strike on the town of Haltah in the south today.
In response, the Israeli army announced that Hezbollah had launched approximately 40 rockets from southern Lebanon towards northern Israel today. The army further stated that sirens sounded in the Upper Galilee due to the incoming rockets.
Hezbollah confirmed in two separate statements that its operatives targeted Israeli forces today at the newly established command post of the Western Brigade in the Israeli barracks of Yaira using a swarm of precision drones. The group also reported targeting additional soldiers east of the town of Khyam in southern Lebanon with a barrage of rockets, claiming that all strikes hit their intended targets accurately.
This follows hours after announcing in previous statements that its operatives targeted Israeli forces in the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Shmona on the night of Sunday/Monday and also targeted the settlements of Gornot HaGalil and the Shar'aga base with rocket fire.
It is pertinent to note that on October 8, 2023, following the commencement of Israel's war on the besieged Gaza Strip, Hezbollah opened a front to support Gaza, resulting in near-daily exchanges of fire across the border.
Since then, Israel has intensified its airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds in southern Lebanon, eastern Lebanon, and the southern suburbs of Beirut, beginning its limited ground operations on September 30.
Since the exchange of fire commenced between Hezbollah and Israel on October 8, 2023, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reports that 3,452 individuals have been killed in Lebanon.
