Israel Issues Evacuation Orders for Southern Beirut
جنوب لبنان

As Israeli airstrikes continue, the army renewed its evacuation warnings today, Thursday, for residents in areas of the southern suburbs of Beirut. The Israeli military has issued evacuation orders for the residents of Burj al-Barajneh and Haret Hreik in the southern suburbs.

Earlier today, the Israeli army launched an airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut following an Israeli warning for evacuation.

Details indicate that a new airstrike targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut on Thursday morning, following a new evacuation warning issued by the Israeli army for some neighborhoods in the area just hours after a similar warning.

Images from the scene show plumes of smoke rising from the site of the airstrike in the southern suburbs, which comes after at least six waves of Israeli airstrikes since Tuesday. Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee requested on his X platform account that residents of the "Shuwayfat, Al-Amrousiah, and Ghobeiri" areas evacuate, adding, "You are located near facilities and interests belonging to Hezbollah, which the Israel Defense Forces will act against in the near future."

This development comes amid reports from "Al-Arabiya" and "Al-Hadath" that the political leadership in Israel has approved the transition to the second phase of the ground operation in Lebanon, which will include additional villages in the south. This step follows an expansion of Israeli bombardment in Lebanon and ongoing battles in the south, where the Israeli army announced the deaths of six of its soldiers.

According to the newspaper "Maariv," the Israeli army has commenced the second phase of its ground incursion into Lebanon, focusing operations on dismantling Hezbollah's military capabilities. This phase is accompanied by intensified airstrikes on vital Hezbollah targets across Lebanon.

In related news, the Israeli army announced the deaths of six soldiers in southern Lebanon, raising the toll of military casualties to 47 since the ground assault began on Lebanese territory on September 30.

The army has released the names of five soldiers who lost their lives in these battles, while the name of the sixth soldier is pending approval for release, according to the military statement.

This marks the highest number of casualties suffered by the Israeli army in a single confrontation since the onset of ground operations in southern Lebanon.
