Turkish newspaper "Zaman" reviewed Israeli media claims about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's efforts to consult with Tel Aviv regarding coordination of recent Israeli military strikes in Syrian territory.

Israeli "Channel 12" reported information about this communication between both sides, explaining that Erdogan "requested Israeli military and security forces to coordinate their military activities in Syria with Turkey, similar to Russian-Israeli coordination," but the Israeli side ignored this proposal.

Israeli military strikes have targeted Syrian army sites and military facilities after Assad's regime collapse in December. Israel has conducted multiple strikes since the Syrian crisis began, mostly targeting Iranian elements and then-regime army centers.

Last Monday, the Turkish President stated that "Israel will be forced to withdraw from the occupied Golan Heights after expanding its presence in the region following Bashar al-Assad's regime collapse."

Erdogan added: "Sooner or later, Israel will withdraw from the territories it occupied in Syria, taking advantage of the current situation."

Regarding Syrian developments and the new administration, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar described the current regime in Syria, particularly Turkish-backed armed groups in Idlib, as a "gang formation."

He stated: "The Syrian regime is actually a gang formation, not a legitimate government, and the control of Islamic groups with extreme ideologies over other areas, whether controlling Damascus or managing Idlib, does not constitute stability."
