Israeli Defense Minister Threatens to Abrogate Ceasefire Agreement with Hezbollah

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant threatened to abrogate the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah if the group does not withdraw to north of the Litani River.
Gallant made his statements during his visit to the Israeli military's Northern Command headquarters, where he inspected a weapons exhibit collected by the army from southern Lebanon. There, he received updates on the military and intelligence activities of the army in Lebanon, in addition to what he described as strict enforcement against Hezbollah's violations.
Gallant clarified, "Israel is interested in implementing the agreement in Lebanon and will continue to fully enforce it without concessions to ensure the safe return of northern residents to their homes. However, the first condition for implementing the agreement is the complete withdrawal of the terrorist organization Hezbollah beyond the Litani River, dismantling all weapons, and eliminating the terrorist infrastructure in the region by the Lebanese army, which has not yet happened."
He pointed out that if this condition is not met, there will be no agreement, and Israel will have to act independently to ensure the safe return of northern residents.
Gallant confirmed, "We will not allow a renewed threat to the northern towns and the citizens of the State of Israel."
