Netanyahu Hints at Israel's Responsibility for Hezbollah Communications Devices Explosion

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed Sunday new details regarding the explosion operation of Hezbollah's pager devices in Lebanon.

Netanyahu emphasized in his statements that "there were people in the security apparatus who objected to this operation," in a clear reference to Israel's responsibility for the explosions.

The simultaneous explosions of pagers and wireless communication devices last September resulted in 12 deaths and thousands of injuries.

Sky News Arabia sources reported that Israeli intelligence (Mossad) planted explosives in thousands of "pager" devices before they reached Hezbollah elements.

During the weekly government session, Netanyahu reviewed some security and political officials' reservations about strategic operations, including targeting Hassan Nasrallah and storming Rafah.

He indicated that internal opposition was linked to various considerations, including the reserved American position on some operations.

The Israeli Prime Minister accused internal and external parties of "spreading lies" about negotiations to release detainees in Gaza, pointing to "Hamas's hardening position" since the execution of 6 hostages in a Rafah tunnel in late August.
