Rami Makhlouf Attacks Assad: "Your Foolish Courtiers" Compromise the Alawites

Rami Makhlouf, the Syrian businessman and cousin of former president Bashar Assad, commented on the recent events in the Syrian coast, launching a sharp attack on Brigadier General Ghiyath Dalla, an official in the Fourth Division who is considered one of the main figures involved in the situation there.
In his first statement following the fall of the Assad regime, Makhlouf said, "I have returned, and the return is praiseworthy," affirming his intention to reinstate all civilians and military personnel who had been dismissed from their positions, promising that they "will return honored, safe, and successful."
Makhlouf expressed his scathing criticisms of the "Fourth Division" officers, particularly Brigadier Dalla, who he claims participated in clashes with the new security forces. He began his post on "Facebook" by presenting alarming statistics indicating that 6,000 people had been killed and 13,000 wounded during the bloody events on the coast, noting that entire families had been wiped out.
He spoke of painful scenes, including bodies lying in the streets and horrific practices related to "organ trafficking," condemning the torture and abuse of citizens. He posed a biting question: "What have you done to our people, Officer Dalla? Did you trade in the blood of our people?"
Makhlouf also questioned why these officers would involve and exploit civilians under such dire circumstances, pointing out their large numbers and the strength of their army, saying, "Is it reasonable to reclaim a homeland you lost with a few civilians?"
He addressed "our people in the coast," warning against any actions that could lead to a deterioration of the situation, expressing his sympathy for their suffering and his pain for the loss of their loved ones. He affirmed that they would do everything possible to stop these massacres and ensure security in the region.
Makhlouf concluded by stating that they are working on fundamental solutions to prevent the recurrence of such events, expressing hope for the return of all dismissed individuals to their positions and pledging to assist them with all his strength and knowledge.
