UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed renewed his country's firm position in supporting Syria's independence and sovereignty, at a time when fears are escalating about Turkey's attempts to expand its influence through Hayat Tahrir al-Sham/Al-Nusra Front organization.

During his reception of Asaad Al-Shaibani, the Foreign Minister of the new political administration in Syria, bin Zayed emphasized the UAE's standing alongside the Syrian people and its support for regional and UN efforts aimed at achieving their aspirations for security, peace, and stability.

These discussions come amid growing Arab concerns about the Turkish plan aimed at controlling large areas in Syria through supporting Hayat Tahrir al-Sham led by Abu Mohammed al-Jolani.

The meeting addressed ways to strengthen fraternal relations between the two countries in all fields, focusing on coordinating positions to confront foreign interventions that threaten Syria's unity and stability.

The Emirati Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of providing security and stability factors for the Syrian people, in a clear reference to rejecting Turkish attempts to destabilize through supporting extremist organizations.

Political analysts view the renewed Emirati support for Syria as part of a broader Arab movement to confront the Turkish expansionist project that seeks to impose its influence through its tools of extremist organizations.
