Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman exchanged a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which they reviewed the course of distinguished bilateral relations and joint efforts to strengthen them.

According to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA," the leaders reviewed opportunities to develop cooperation between the two countries in various fields, noting the current level of relations and efforts to advance them.

The discussion between the two sides addressed several files and matters of mutual interest, including developments in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and related international efforts.

The Saudi and Russian sides have maintained regular communications and visits in recent months, with the latest being Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to the Kingdom last December, which resulted in signing more than 40 agreements in energy and investment sectors.

Saudi-Russian relations in recent years have been characterized by continuous coordination in global oil markets through the "OPEC+" alliance, where both countries succeeded in leading the group toward achieving market stability.

Trade exchange between the two countries is seeing notable growth, increasing by 37% in 2023 compared to the previous year, reaching about 4.5 billion dollars.

The Kingdom maintains a balanced position on the Ukrainian crisis, consistently calling for dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution, while providing humanitarian aid worth $400 million to the Ukrainian people.

Riyadh seeks to enhance its investments in Russia as part of its economic diversification plans, with the Saudi Public Investment Fund signing agreements to implement joint projects in technology, artificial intelligence, and clean energy.
