Saudi Arabian King Salman says Iranian weapons were used in Aramco attacks

Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz reiterated on Wednesday that Iranian weapons were used in the September attacks against Saudi Aramco’s key oil facilities, Reuters reported.

US intelligence shows that the attack on two of Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities originated from Iran and the Arab Coalition’s preliminary findings showed the weapons were made by Iran.

Arab Coalition Spokesperson Colonel Turki al-Maliki said on September 18 that the attack was “unquestionably sponsored by Iran” and “did not originate from Yemen despite Iran's best efforts to make it appear so.”

The attacks knocked out more than half of Saudi Arabia’s oil production and damaged the world’s biggest crude processing plant. Production capacity at the targeted plants was fully restored, in part by drawing from Saudi reserves of crude oil.

King Salman also addressed Saudi Aramco’s planned IPO on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul), adding that the market would allow investors from inside and outside of the Kingdom to take part.

He added that the listing would attract foreign investments and create thousands of jobs.
