SDF Bombards Manbij in Aleppo Countryside with Prohibited Incendiary Weapons

As clashes continue in eastern Syria, attention is drawn to a new meeting this week between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the new Syrian administration led by Ahmed al-Shara.
Amid escalating tensions, the Syrian Civil Defense "White Helmets" reported that the artillery shelling carried out by the SDF targeted civilian homes in the Abu Qalqal area in the eastern countryside of Manbij this morning. The Civil Defense confirmed via its Facebook account that its teams inspected the affected areas and ensured that there were no injuries.
This shelling follows a tragic incident where two young sisters were killed and seven civilians were injured, including four children and a woman, due to artillery fire that targeted homes in the village of Tal Arsh in the Manbij countryside last night. The Civil Defense noted that incendiary weapons were used in the attacks and the injured were transported to Al-Hikma Hospital in Manbij.
The Civil Defense emphasized that attacks on civilians with internationally prohibited weapons are considered serious war crimes, calling for holding the perpetrators accountable and achieving justice for the victims, as well as the necessity to prevent these violations.
It is worth mentioning that the eastern countryside of Manbij has recently witnessed daily battles between Turkey-backed National Army factions and the SDF, which took control of the city of Manbij last month after intense clashes.
In this context, information indicates that SDF officials will meet with officials from the new Syrian administration over the coming week, where discussions will be held regarding the participation of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the national conference planned to be held in Damascus next month.
During the meeting, the outlines of important issues related to the SDF's preservation of the uniqueness of their regions will be discussed, as well as the adoption of a constitution that guarantees the rights of Kurds and other Kurdish components such as the Assyrians and Armenians, in addition to the form of governance in future Syria and the mechanism for distributing oil wealth.
