SDF Claims to Have Thwarted Turkish Attack in Northern Syria and Warns of ISIS Cell Proliferation

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that they successfully thwarted an attack launched by Turkey-aligned factions around the Tishrin Dam in the city of Manbij, Aleppo countryside, on Monday. The SDF stated that they have been conducting ongoing combing operations in the villages surrounding the dam to enhance security and stability.
On the other hand, media reports indicated that the clashes in the area resulted in the deaths of 15 SDF fighters in battles that extended across Aleppo countryside, Manbij, al-Qarqouzq Bridge, Tishrin Dam, and Deir ez-Zor.
In a related context, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria clarified that the Tishrin Dam, one of the most vital dams in the region, has become completely out of service due to targeting by Turkish forces and armed factions associated with them.
Moreover, security sources in northeastern Syria reported that ISIS-affiliated cells carried out attacks on SDF checkpoints in the town of al-Sabha in eastern Deir ez-Zor, as well as at the Wadi al-Raml checkpoint in the al-Yarisha area in southern Hasakah countryside. A statement issued by the internal security forces confirmed that these attacks come amid the SDF's military engagement in countering Turkish assaults, which increases the security challenges in the region.
