Syrian Regime Allows Hezbollah to Transfer Missile Components to its Territory
-
It appears that Hezbollah is repositioning its missile arsenal in Syria to escape potential Israeli strikes in Lebanon, with facilitation from the Syrian regime
Algerian human rights activist Anwar Malek said in a tweet on X platform today, Saturday, that information provided by a Syrian military intelligence officer revealed that permission was granted to bring "important parts of missile components" belonging to Hezbollah from Lebanon into Syrian territory, with the condition that they be stored at sites more than 10 kilometers from the Lebanese border.
The source explained that the movement of weapons, specifically the remaining "precision missile components," has taken a reverse course after previously moving from Syria to Lebanon.
The source spoke about emptying two large missile warehouses in northern Lebanon, dismantling them, and transferring their contents toward the Hermel area in disguise for entry into storage facilities inside Syria, noting that Israeli aircraft "will not bomb the fleeing weapons" and will suffice with targeting what is present or en route to Lebanon.
The source confirmed that Hezbollah will not take any step except surrendering its weapons to the Lebanese army, indicating that it will, when necessary, only hand over some remaining light weapons south of the Litani River.
According to observers, these movements come as part of Hezbollah's strategic repositioning amid ongoing military escalation with Israel, as the group seeks to protect its military capabilities from potential Israeli strikes.
Over the past months, Israel has carried out dozens of raids on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, particularly targeting weapons warehouses and missile launch platforms.
These developments coincided with escalating international warnings about the danger of expanding the scope of military confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah, while diplomatic efforts continue to prevent the region from sliding into a full-scale war.
It is worth noting that the Syrian regime is considered a strategic ally of Hezbollah and has provided it with logistical and military support over the past years, within the framework of the so-called "resistance axis" supported by Iran.
