Tehran Threatens Disappointing Response to Israel's Crossing of Red Lines
-
The contrast in statements between Iranian military and political leadership reflects careful balancing between the necessity to respond and avoiding comprehensive escalation

The Iranian army has followed the Revolutionary Guard's approach in hinting at an unexpected response to recent Israeli strikes.
Tasnim Agency quoted Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri confirming that Tehran's response will exceed Tel Aviv's estimates, describing the Israeli operation as crossing red lines.
Bagheri threatened to deliver a different and disappointing response to the aggressors at the appropriate time, emphasizing his country's refusal to tolerate any aggression on its territory.
The military commander drew parallels between the previous "True Promise" operation and the anticipated response, confirming the latter's distinction in terms of tactics, execution method, and weapons type.
Iranian military leaders' warnings of a strong and surprising response have continued over the past weeks.
A contrast emerged in Iranian statements, as political officials confirmed the response would be calculated and precise, denying Tehran's intention to expand the scope of war.
Iranian Supreme Leader's advisor Ali Larijani called for adopting a rational approach in responding.
Israel had conducted airstrikes on October 26 targeting three Iranian provinces, striking missile facilities and S-300 air defense systems.
The attack resulted in four Iranian soldiers' deaths, according to official authorities at the time.
