The British newspaper The Guardian has made a surprising decision to permanently withdraw from the X platform, announcing the permanent cessation of publishing on all its editorial accounts on the platform, citing what it described as the platform's transformation into a toxic space exploited by its owner Elon Musk to promote hate speech and racism.

In its official statement, the newspaper emphasized that "the negatives of being on the platform now outweigh the positives," confirming its intention to direct its resources towards alternative platforms to promote its journalistic content, stating that it "will no longer publish on any official Guardian editorial accounts on the social media site 𝕏."

The established media institution explained that the disturbing content on the platform, including extreme right-wing conspiracy theories and racism, prompted it to thoroughly consider this step, noting that the developments in the U.S. presidential elections confirmed the correctness of its decision.

The Guardian emphasized that "𝕏 platform has become a toxic media platform," directing sharp criticism at its owner Elon Musk, who they say has used his influence in managing the platform "to spread hate and racism and shape right-wing political discourse" according to their statement.
