The Operations Administration Strengthens Its Forces in the Surroundings of Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo
The military operations administration has reinforced its forces in the vicinity of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo as part of a strategy to pursue the remnants of the ousted regime in areas along the Syrian coast. For the first time, helicopters have been deployed to support combing operations.
According to special sources for the Syria TV website, military presence in the area, where the "People’s Protection Units" (YPG), linked to the "Kurdistan Workers' Party" (PKK), are stationed, has been bolstered. Since the takeover of the city of Aleppo approximately three weeks ago through "Operation Deterrence Against Aggression," the "Protection Units" have refused to hand over the two neighborhoods to the new Syrian administration, continuing to target the military operations forces, journalistic staff, and some civilians.
Regarding the YPG militants, the military operations administration has offered commitments to provide a safe exit for them to northeastern Syria or to make settlements similar to those reached with other previously armed groups.
In a related context, the coastal provinces of Latakia and Tartus are witnessing ongoing pursuits of elements affiliated with the ousted regime, with many being arrested after refusing to surrender their weapons. These elements have also launched attacks on the operations administration, resulting in casualties among its ranks.
In a statement, the administration confirmed the commencement of the use of military helicopters in combing operations in the rural areas of Latakia and Tartus, noting that operations have been launched from the Istamo airport in the countryside of Tartus to pursue the remnants of the ousted regime."
