The Assad regime is racing against time to revive the Nassib border crossing with Jordan, in a desperate attempt to compensate for its economic losses after Israel's targeting of Lebanese crossings.

The regime was forced to send four ministers at once to the crossing, in a scene reflecting its confusion and urgent need for hard currency flow through foreign trade.

The regime's Interior Minister tried to cover up his government's inability with vague promises to "overcome all difficulties," ignoring the corruption of its institutions and the involvement of its security agencies in drug trafficking across borders.

Informed sources revealed that Amman had been imposing strict measures on Syrian movement and transit shipments due to the regime's apparatus involvement in drug trafficking and refugee flows.

The Assad regime is trying to exploit current regional circumstances to reduce its isolation, by pledging to neutralize southern Syria from Israeli escalation in exchange for Jordanian facilitations at the crossing.

The government delegation's tour revealed the crossing's infrastructure underdevelopment and the regime's inability to provide basic services, as the "single window hall" remains under construction despite years since the crossing's reopening.

The intensification of communications between Damascus and Amman reflects the regime's desperate attempts to find economic relief, especially after Syrian travelers were diverted from Beirut airport to Queen Alia International Airport.
