Video Sparks Controversy After Sycophant Official Attacks Ex-Regime Member

A widely circulated video on social media shows a member affiliated with the Syrian government striking a former regime supporter.

In the video, the person who was assaulted is seen receiving blows from the government-affiliated individual, sparking widespread debate and anger among internet users.

The footage reveals that the government official asked the other person, "Why didn't you settle?" referring to reconciliation efforts or attempts to regularize the status of former regime members. However, the act of violence by the official against the individual in the video provoked angry reactions, with many condemning the use of violence against someone who may be in a sensitive situation, especially amid ongoing efforts at calming tensions and reconciliation.

Syria is currently experiencing heightened tension and escalation, and this video has become a new point of controversy, raising questions about the use of force and how to deal with former regime elements, particularly in the context of the tense security situation.

So far, no official statements have been issued regarding the incident. The relevant authorities are monitoring the video and the reactions it has provoked, amid calls for the application of the law and holding those responsible for excessive violence accountable.
