President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday via his social media platform, Truth Social, that former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley will not be part of his new administration.

As Trump prepares for his return to the White House following his victory in the 2024 presidential election, he is set to officially take office in a ceremony on January 20, marking the commencement of his second term after a four-year absence.

In his post on Truth Social, Trump expressed: "I enjoyed working with Pompeo and Haley in the past and I thank them for their service to the United States, but they will not be part of my new administration."

This statement comes as Trump takes his initial steps in forming his new team, which observers are closely monitoring for potential changes at both domestic and international levels.

Pompeo and Haley were known for their close collaboration with Trump during his first term from 2017 to 2021, playing crucial roles in shaping and implementing foreign policies focused on American interests. Pompeo was instrumental in developing new strategies toward China and Iran, while Haley prominently represented the administration at the UN and adopted firm stances on global issues.

Analysts believe Trump's decision to exclude these two prominent figures from his new team reflects significant changes that may diverge from the approach taken during his first term. On multiple occasions, Trump has indicated his intention to adopt a different style that aligns with a new era of international challenges, necessitating fresh faces and diverse ideas.

Amid these shifts, expectations are rising regarding the policies Trump will pursue in his second term, which will encompass issues such as the economy, trade, foreign relations, and immigration.

This comes as both the American public and the international community await the upcoming administration's decisions and their potential impacts on Middle Eastern conflicts, relationships with China, Russia, and Iran, as well as the stringent domestic policies on immigration and trade.
