Reuters reported on Wednesday that 1,500 members of Hezbollah have been left blind or lost their limbs as a result of attacks targeting wireless communication devices.

In related news, the agency referred to statements from a Norwegian police attorney specializing in security issues, who indicated that authorities have initiated a preliminary investigation into reports suggesting a Norwegian company was involved in selling pager communication devices to the Lebanese group Hezbollah.

Lebanon witnessed explosions of thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies over the course of two days last week, resulting in more than 39 deaths and thousands of injuries.

These attacks are widely believed to have been carried out by Israel, which has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement in these incidents. The methods and timing of how these devices were manipulated to be detonated remotely remain unclear.

Taiwan, Hungary, and Bulgaria have already begun investigating potential connections of companies within their jurisdictions to the supply chain of these devices.
